Construction details
This project called for the excavation of 5.3 kilometers length tunnel, digging at 20 to 25 meters deep. It was excavated using a TBM HK using a closed face shield nicknamed “The Tapatía”, the same one which excavated the tunnel underneath the “Sagrada Familia” of Barcelona.
Our highly skilled professionals at ITS collaborated on the construction of this tunnel, realizing engineering work, assembly and maintenance of the TBM and it’s related facilities as well as logistical and organization oversight for rail sidings, warehouses and workshops.
